The War against Indigenous Peoples of B.C. continues.

todays commentary: 1/22/2020 on article by CBC News - "I'm not being disrespectful, I'm just saying be realistic":  Horgan defends not meeting Wet'suwet'en chiefs." by Brigette Watson, CBC news, January 20, 2020.
I want to ask, What and to who's reality do you refer to? The reality of the Wetsuwet'en is not the same reality of whence you speak Mr. Horgan.  It is not the same reality for other Indigenous Nations who have to sacrifice once again for the actions of Premiers and local government institutions and corporations that have made decisions that will greatly impact the relationships our people are responsible for maintaining in these territories. A multitude of nations in B.C. take seriously this relationship for the land and the sea. In every direction. For every living thing.
The opposition to Coastal Gaslink is not only from the Wet'suwet'en Chiefs, this is greatly down-scaled as opposition is great on Vancouver Island, in particular from whence I speak in the south. Here is where the threat is real for the pipeline to create harbours for their use in Saanich Inlet, and travel through our waterways endangering our traditional and sacred territories, and our relatives in the sea who are our sustenance and livelihood.  The heritage in my family is as fishermen and womyn.
The voice of the Indigenous is silenced  by the state government institutions of the Department of Indian Affairs that still remains as the 'agent' of the elected chief and council, and really, because the state created it, it is considered the only "legitimate" government structure in an Indigenous community.  Therefore, as hypocrisy rules, the people drool, who has the $ honey?
This overpoliticization of our Nations in our own lands has encouraged the rape of mother earth through industrialization and technological impacts which has been reflected in the blazened assault on our womyn and children.  It is all relative, and it is all destructive.  My sincere desire is for our Nations to consider these destructions seriously, for the sake of our future generations. We have to no longer cater to the "needs" of the non-indigenous by seeing through their capitalistic eyes.

Chief Na'mok speaks the truth in his statement that "only an in-person meeting from the premier demonstrates respect for the chiefs"  "Having no plans to pull permits for a project he says is an economic change for numerous other nations along the pipeline route who support it." Is another way to say the 'economic change' that those Nations see is not the same as the one Horgan sees.  Believe it or not Indigenous nations that jump on board have a reality to face in dealing with the State--they may not see any other opportunity in their futures because in our reality alternatives are not given, nor are our ideals supported.  Only if they come from the imposing state, we cannot just create our own idea of development or sustainability. Timelines and Deadlines are present--$ is thrown out to the elected leadership-the promises of employment (which usually is very temporary for the Indigenous people groups that receive employment).  I like to read employment sites cause it always indicates a direction the government is heading and what they are looking for in creating their ideal province in relationship with Indigenous peoples.  There are currently a number of oil corporations looking for "aboriginal liasons" and aquaculture is employing, all over Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland.  Indicating to me that government is seeking the appeasement of those environmentalists that blame the government for endangering salmon stocks, and as always corporations and government are bedfellows.
The 20 elected Band councils in B.C, along a 670 km. pipeline route Horgan states support the pipeline.  He was informed that "band councils only have jurisdiction over reserve lands rather than
unceded territories." A position our WSANEC Nation supports as well. (Standing Committee, WJOTELP village) Long has the tyranny of the Federal government and D.I.A sought to stop the voices of the stewards of our lands.  Our sovereignty in WSANEC is similar to Wet'suwet'en in that 'families' are responsible as stewards on land and sea in hunting, fishing and gathering in our lands.  No one body whether Chief and council or any other imposed system of governance can take that away from our families.  Our heritage is our inheritance from our ancestors.  OUR CELANEN MAKES US SOVEREIGN.
Horgan states "There is no negotiating to be done", is a declaration of war against the Wet'suwet'en and the troops are already in place.  A statement of alliance with the Wet'suwet'en came from Judith Sayers referring to the B.C. Legislatures November, 2019, passing the United Nations Declaration of Rights for Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP).  I say, "how soon they forget".  Typical.  Horgan's
reference to "backward looking" is a slur against the Heriditary chiefs and their ancestral stand
for their sovereign rights, to govern and manage their lands and waters; traditional, familial, and sacred.  I STAND WITH THE WET'SUWET'EN, WHERE IS THE REST OF MY NATION?, AND THE OTHER INDIGENOUS NATIONS...LET'S RAISE OUR FLAGS IN SUPPORT AND CLOSE THE GATES IN ALLEGIANCE.The War Against Indigenous Peoples continues in B.C  The War Against Indigenous Peoples of B.

We are not all chiefs, we are not all Canucks and we are not canadians

I woke up with that thought for a title.  Reminded of public school days of learning my Indigeneity from red-neck farmer kids and playing sports on 'white' teams. Non-Indigenous people or most Canadians, still pretend to know nothing of Indigenous realities but truth be known, they pick and choose what they need to know and can ignore the rest.  This I learned from the non-Indian parents of my "friends" who had very specific rules for my visits, even getting chased out of the house whenever the father came home.  He built his empire on indigenous lands but he chose not to see "those filthy people" outside of his business.  Takeovers were common on the Saanich Peninsula by leasing, municipalities, the province, and corporations usurping unceded territories.  Actions of the colonialist government divided up lands according to department of Indian affairs (DIA) surveyance and agents. Much has since been lost in dividing the WSANEC nation, the actions of DIA over
I hope that couple does not move to Vancouver Island  Washingtonmonthly.com   I was thinking how excited some people are about this but in my heart and mind...i say no way!!  It's not cool for them to come here and expect us, especially Indigenous peoples to see another generation of 'colonizer' coming in masked as an 'immigrant' and expecting the Canadian taxpayers to foot the bill for their life here.  We NEVER get asked for our opinion, we NEVER get consultation that actually includes dialogue where what we say is considered as suggestive of solutions, or even considered to be 'adapted' out of our 'nativity'. Whatever!!!Meghan has citizenship in the United States and I think she should take her husband across the border by the hair on his chinny chin chin.  Let them raise up their little piglets and enjoy american life...let her take on the PRESIDENCY OF THE U.S....She can't do any worse than Trump, or be any nuttier previous presidents.  SO
